I'm not sure if I want to go with a full 6-8 point cage since I really just want it for the harnesses. Show me some of your solutions and where you got your bar/cage from. Is a 4 point bar enough or should I add the front two points?

Another thought was to add a harness bar that bolts to the lock pillars so it can be removed when I'm not racing. What are your thoughts on that?

Thanks.

I put the harness on the floor lap belts on stock holes shoulder belts bolt to frame connecters

Thanks. They say it's not really safe to put the belts over your shoulder and then to the floor - in an accident it would pull down on your shoulders harshly and cause injury (more than the accident itself). To be safe, the belts should mount about the height of your shoulders, and not more than a couple inches down.

I have a 6 point rollbar since its a street car as I dont want the extra bars of the cage to worry about banging my head on driving on the street. And I dont plan to run 9's with the car as it will stay a 10 second street car. If you want to run 9's you have to have a full rollcage and it has to be certified. And you also have to get an NHRA license when you run in the 9's. So I use this 6 point bar which is legal down to 10.00. I bolt the lap belts in the same holes in the floor the stock belts would have been in. The shoulder harness wraps around the rollbar center bar right where it passes behind the drivers seat. This is not a great pic as its all I have right now. You cant see the center bar to good which goes behind the drivers seat when it goes from side to side. I also have a brace on it that goes against the back of the drivers seat. but you can get the idea from this pic. Ron

Here is a pic that was taken before I put the saftey belts in but you can see the center bar that goes from side to side behind the drivers seat better in this pic. Thats the bar (center bar) that the shoulder harness wraps around and then comes over the stock seats. Ron

Ron, where did you get your bar, or was it custom made? I'm looking for something similar, but want the front bars to have the angle built in for easier access. I don't drag race (hence the handle) I just race at open track days.
Thanks

I bought the rollbar as a kit from S & W. It was what they now call an 8 point rollbar kit and I believe it fit like 63 to 65 or something like that. I believe S & W is in PA. Ron
