Hi,i am putting the door glass in my 70 Runner .Any tips on this?I have the factory manual, but was hoping i could get some help here. Also, can i put the cat whiskers in after?Looks like they push down on slots,so should be able to.Thanks

Wiskers 'should' go in last...lets you see inside the door better while 'fighting the glass' :angry9:

It's been a while, but I think I went:
1. Wing vent frame install (leave hardware loose for 'play' to get main window in)
2. Rear channel in (again, leave loose...)
3. Pre-position cranking mechanism into bottom of door so it's at-the-ready once window is in the channels
3. Slide front of the main window down wing vent frame
4. Slide rear of window into rear channel once down far enough
5. While supporting window in the channels, align the cranking mechanism rollers into the metal channels at the bottom of the window.
6. Manuever the cranking mechanism & window to get mounting screw holes aligned with hoor holes

Then comes the fun part of adjusting the window to align properly. There are some fairly recent posts on this topic. You have to know the 'right words' to adjust a window. They are the same words used to get old chain-saws and weed-whackers started. :angry1:

Thanks for the reply.I think i know some of those helpful words. Will give them a try also. Not looking forward to this, but here goes.

I would seriously recommend grabbing a service manual for your car to do this or you may be fighting the adjustment for hours....Kinda like some folks do for door adjustments.

Follow the manual, there is a sequence of events for proper alignment....They're worth their weight in gold.

Already have the manual, but was not to helpful on the install, but as you said, will be invaluable foe adjusting.Got one side donePITA
