OK, so I am trying to put together the front and rear window regulators, which were taken apart by someone else. (Somehow, I figured out the rear 1/4 windows - which are way more complex than the front windows!)

For the front side windows, I have identified this part in the parts catalog as a 'stop'. What I have not been able to figure out is where exactly it goes.

It goes inside the door panel, so I know asking for a picture of an installed one is useless, but does anyone have a diagram, or a sketch on a napkin, or anything to indicate where this piece goes?

Thanks!

There will be two holes in the inner door skin, and this window down stop will be adjusted to prevent the window from going too far down. I will try to see if I have pics of when I did mine when I get home.

Thanks - I have tried lining the bolt holes up with the available holes on the inner door panel, but haven't found any that are the right distance apart. Maybe I have something else incorrectly installed or something. If you have any pics, that would be awesome!

Where can i get the rubber piece that covers the stop like in the op's picture? Been looking all over for that.

Ohhh...Tough one. Myself I would use a slice of rubber heater hose line or something close the the stops diameter, so it fits snug.

FYI - saw sets of new (repro) rubber bands on e-bay recently.

That stop was used on 1968 and very early built 1969 models. If you have a mid to late built 69 B-body it did not use that type of stop and the door structure was redesigned with-out being recessed to accept the bolts for it to be mounted. The down stop then was repositioned on the back lower area of the glass and the rear track was redesigned with a small bracket on the bottom for the stop. In 1970 the rear track and rear glass trim changed again and had white plastic wedges built in them to help with the stop alignments. If you end of needing some internal door or quarter parts PM me i have them available

The stop in this picture came out of a 66 Charger. There are two recessed areas in the middle of the door panel. Each of these has a slotted hole at a 45 degree angle. I found that if it's positioned with the 'Hook' at the top, facing outward - it will catch the arm of the window regulator and stop it from going up any higher.

As for the rubber bands - mine were as hard as plastic, and crumbled to bits when I tried to remove it. Haven't been able to find anyone making reproductions yet - anyone else have any luck? The rubber hose idea sounds like a good option.
