So, finally finished up installing my built 440 and kept having issues getting it to start...anyway, it looks like a few wires going to the bulkhead connector got damaged during the install. It was reconditioned years ago and looked at again when I added A/C and addressed the ammeter/ignition/headlights and such, so its good and functioning otherwise.

So now, I would like to remove the old "spade/blade" and "reterminate" those wires with new connectors so I know they are 100%.

I saw a bunch of different terminals mentioned in other threads, but I can't seem to find a "complete terminal set" for sale that would give me what I need so that I have a bunch in the various sizes (all the wires in my bulkhead do not appear to be the same size) in case I have to fix more than the few I know to be questionable.

Any advice without having to actually purchase a complete bulkhead connector kit would be appreciated.

How about removing the spade/blade terminal from the bulkhead connector itself then run the wire straight through...would look OK and appear to a casual glance that it is correct, but you would do away with that problem prone connection.

Recently replaced the BH after around a year and a half later post new engine bay harness. Was pleasantly surprised to find the original connectors/wires behind the BH in nice shape, they were corroded looking; but a vinegar bath and reforming the female connectors with a mule male was a to-do. Used sanding sticks to clean inside the connectors. Had issues with a solid ignition wire connection and noted some overheating in the harness/wire and loss of power - the dreaded no run unless keeping the key to the start position. Today I pulled this wire out of the harness and was disgusted to find shitty wire crimping - new harness. Re-did this and so far so fine. Quality wiring harnesses - matter. Also made me wonder why this wire wasn't a tad heavier gauge than it is...suppose cars were never mfg to last a half century...

The local mom and pop auto shop had a book and I was able to match it up and order some! Not many places like this left but the lady at the counter has been there since 1976 and knows a lot about Mopars! Will be my go-to place in the future!
