I am organizing my parts for my resto and think I have a problem. My air cleaner base is Mopar 3418717, which from what I can find is for a non-air grabber hood. I used Nick's Garage, but I don't have a book for all of the part numbers. I have one that looks like it is for an air grabber but it might have been cut. Does anyone have a pic of an original base? Here is the nice one I have. Also, what year etc is this one specifically for as I am probably going to sell or trade it for what I need. I have seen 69-71, but I am sure there are slight differences between the years.

thats a non air grabber base. you can cut the shield off the front of base and use it. i wonder if something missing on the back? maybe a pic of the back?

It's been a long time since I had one in hand, but the 69 version is very different from the later ones.

The 69's were square-ish correct? These are the other two that I have. The one that has not been trimmed is a reproduction I believe because i could not find a part number and the rest of the air grabber setup on the car was repop and the other has been cut. Why were a lot of them cut off? This is more than just the splash shield trimmed.

the two oval bases are for 1970 or 1971 cars. the one with the shield is for a non air grabber and the shieldless for an air grabber. the '69 is rectangular shaped and isn't drop based. it's too bad somebody butchered that one. i need one if you want to price one to me.

If I remember correctly the 69 base had "sides" all around like a bathtub with the hood sealing gasket on top of the base & the filter element/top in the middle, drain hoses off the bottom of the "tub".
