The gauge cluster of the dash on a 68 and 69 roadrunner - what size aftermarket gauges can one fit in there?

There seems to be a bunch of aftermarket clusters for chargers and for the rallye panel, but nothing for the one above. Can't really figure out what to do with it. A "square" aftermarket one would be cool but haven't seen any of those around. Would be nice with a big speedometer and big tach but space seems limited.

I know that there's a bunch of "show me your gauges" threads but can't find what I'm looking for.

bump - size wanted so I can order the gauges before I actually get the car lol

What are you looking to do? I custom fabricated a plate to mount to the front of my cluster, then cut holes to mount circular gauges. I'll have to go back and look but the problem is the rectangular RR guage bezel. If you want to keep it, I believe you have to use 2-1/16 gauges. If you ditch it, you can fit 2-3/14 tach and speedo if you get crafty with the placement.

That looks good man. Do you think throwing in a rally gauge setup would work? I know I would have to lose the lower dash pad but you can fit the big 5" gauges and 2 3/8 gauges into it. Are the dashes the same for a 69 non rally dash?

Great question - I've been trying to figure that out myself for a while now. Even though it would be "wrong" to put a 70 dash in a 69 - it looks a lot better.

About getting creative with the placement of the gauges - I'd love to have speed and tach in the middle and the others on a straight row on both sides of them - but I guess that won't work given that everyone I've seen doing their own clusters don't have them in a straight line?

I think a Rally Dash would look great in a '68/9, and more appropriate than a late model style dash.

It would - but does it fit? Do you need to rebuild the entire support behind it?

be easier to swap out the dash frame from a Charger.
