So I have a 1967 Coronet with 318, 727. And I bought a 68 Imperial and took the 440 and big block 727 out of that. My question is do I need the transmission crossmember out of the Imperial or will mine work with the other transmission?

Yes you need the crossmember/Kmember and the motor mounts unless you want to fabricate

I don't know for sure.... but I don't think the engine K-member, the transmission cross-member from a C-body will fit in a B-body???

O I didn't even think of that. Then again Im not fully versed on which is a b body or a body.

Whether the 727 is from a big block or small, they use the same crossmember since the only external difference is the bell housing bolt pattern. What matters is the body style that the crossmember fits. A fits only A, B fits B and some E bodies, etc.

I got the cross member out earlier today, just in case , but thanks for the wisdom guys. Also got someone to buy the Imperial so that's pretty cool. That money's going into the 440

Trans cross member is fine as Kern said but your motor mounts are going to need attn. If you get the conversion kit all will bolt up or grab a big block K frame. Then all will be good . Unless that's a biscuit motor mount setup then you might get lucky but trans is identical except the bell housing bolts

Your 318 k frame is the same as a bigblock. All you need to put the 440 in your car are the motor mounts from the 440 and use your original tranny crossmember.

all true. Big block Motor mounts are the same B or C. Crossmember needs to be for the B body, the C body will not fit. Your original will work fine.

Thanks for all the wisdom guys, really taking a lot of worries away. It's my first time doing an engine swap.
