I am using TTI setup with small block, their notes didn't really tell the true story, and ended up getting a mini starter (94 Dakota starter), modifying the floor shift lever, modifying the tranny cooler lines, modifying the starter cables to route around the headers, and getting a shorter oil filter. Not sure yet if any thing else will need changing. I suspect with any headers these modifications will be necessary and TTIs does have a spec on what needs to be done with the column shifter linkage.
I used hooker 1 7/8 on a 70 RR with power steering and column shift 727 and original starter. Everything went together well on the drivers side and no mods necessary for stock shifter linkage from steering column. I did need to remove motor mount bolt on passenger side and used a pry bar to lift the engine for the headers to clear. Also had to remove steering drag link to get the passenger header in.
I thought the drivers side would be the big issue but it was easy with the hooker headers. The passenger side was a pain and made me thankful i had access to a lift. This was a 383 big block.
