I think I am going to end my experiment using the solid roller lifters on a hydraulic roller cam, the comp cams xtreme retrofit cam is still in good shape motor all broke in now so thinking to give it more longevity I going to switch to matching hydraulic lifters. Will have a set of good solid rollers for someone if they need them, black friday sale! lmao

Cams fine, not wiped at all. just switching to the lifter designed for my cam. Originally I thought I was buying Hydraulic lifters and after getting them in and figuring out why we couldn't set the lash i figured out they were solid rollers so we just went with it and it's been fine. Even more so supposedly you get 500 more rpm range with this set up on the top end but I'm not racing this car so it doesn't matter, and I do want it to last longer than I had anticipated.

I am at a point to where they need to be checked for adjustment now and I have a small oil leak on the bathtub at the corner of the manifold anyway. So with a combination of things it just makes sense now to make the swap and set it and forget it.

I forgot what type of oil do you soak them in first? and for how long a day?

Just the way I was taught to build engines. New cam, new lifters. If a lifter needed to be replaced use a new one. If the cam and lifters are broke in they are used. Used lifters were scrap. I have yet to build a roller can engine, maybe this doesn't apply any more?
