Have a 99 S-15 4-banger with stick for a beater/parts chaser/hardware store weekend vehicle. Been looking for a full size with 4wd. Most around here have major rust or other issues (one truck we test drove wouldn't run for s&^t, dealer called us back and said it was just a wire off an engine sensor, second test drive the brake line blew, for instance) or are over $10,000 and have 150k miles miles. Test drove a 99 Ram 2500 quad cab yesterday with 58,000 miles, Laramie SLT. Original owner, even had the window sticker. Slight rust on the passenger door bottom and a few dents but otherwise nice body. Tow package, limited slip rear, all the goodies. Ran great. Guy was asking $6,500, showed receipt for new A/C, ball joints, brakes in the last two years. Guy was being forced to switch from septic system to city sewers and needed cash. I thought about it overnight, called today to get the VIN and if the miles were accurate and the CarFax was clear I was going to buy it. Called at 1 pm, 15 minutes after the truck was sold for $6k and drove off.

My leg is sore from kicking myself in the a$$ for not pulling the trigger on it before it got away. Damn!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :angryfire:

Keep looking, there are lots of 4WD trucks for sale around here, and more come up each week. I had to give mine up 4 years ago, 96 2500SLT Extra cab with 3 year old plow, couldn't get 8K for it and it was nice, well kept.

I just had an image of Airplane, when everyone stood in line to smack around the lady that was wigging out... LOL

Looks like the same color as my brother's 71 Road Runner! Thanks for the tip, but I want a quad cab.

Dodge trucks

I know it dosen't help you back there but here in the Northern Calif. foothills, the quad cabs are really hard to find used, the regular SLT 1500's 4x4 extra cabs are a dime a dozen it seems, 99's- 2005 for $5k-$10k all day long, I sold my Dodge 95 4x4 SLT extra cab 5.9 Cummins turbo diesel, for $10K in 2009, we don't have as big of a rust issue, that you guys back east have, usually, mine had a ton of under hood bolt-ons, large wheels & 35" tires, 3" lift, all parts receipts/documentation, oil changes, etc. & any records of dealership work, while it was still under warranty & a few other minor stuff done to it, but had 300k well maintained miles on the chassis, it sold the second day it was listed, 1st guy who showed up, drove it off, full price no haggling... There are a ton of nice 1's out here, for a good price, people are hurting & are selling everything...
