"Sons of Guns" star Will Hayden was arrested on child molestation charges, according to the East Baton Rouge Sheriff's Office. The owner of the firearms business behind the hit Discovery Channel series was arrested and booked in East Baton Rouge, Louisiana, early Saturday.

Because of the nature of the arrest, further details on the charges have been sealed by court order.

Hayden was released the same day after posting $150,000 bail. The reality star was also charged with "a crime against nature," said Casey Rayborn Hicks, public information director of the Sheriff's Office.

Hayden is the founder of Red Jacket Firearms in Louisiana. "Sons of Guns" follows Hayden and those who run the custom weapons company. The show ended its fifth season in May.

Representatives for Discovery Channel had no comment on the incident, while calls to Hayden's lawyer have not been returned.

don't ask how I know.
Oh that's like saying don't walk on the grass, now we all feel compelled to ask, and you are now compelled to answer :)

I'm just surprised he wasn't arrested on firearms violations given all the illegal stuff he does on that show.

Innocent tell proven guilty

I'm just surprised he wasn't arrested on firearms violations given all the illegal stuff he does on that show.

I actually liked that show, a little over the top, no doubt scripted, with a little lawlessness,
I'm sure it was all with local law enforcement approval too...
I was a Discovery Channel show...

I would have suspected that, like Bruzilla said, more that the other "allegations",
he still needs his due process... you never know

It could be all BS too or extortion, someone setting him up/baiting him & after his money,
or something else too, like even an anti-gun agenda...
I wouldn't put anything past the Media today or certain people in high places either...

After all it was reported by the CNN {Communist News Network...LOL}, haven't seen it anywhere else...

Crimes against nature !! wtf is that ??, sex with an animal, burning down a forest, What ??

That explains it cnn reported on a gun lover but wont comment on how our president is making a mockery out of democracy!!!

A Baton Rouge gun dealer known nationally as the star of Discovery Channel’s reality television show “Sons of Guns” was arrested over the weekend, accused of recently molesting a girl at his Greenwell Springs Road home.

William “Will” Hayden, the show’s 49-year-old star, spent Friday night in the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison before leaving sometime Saturday after posting a $150,000 bail on counts of molestation of a juvenile and aggravated crimes against nature, booking records show.

Sheriff’s deputies arrested Hayden on Friday based partly on accusations made by a woman who told investigators that on Aug. 4 she saw Hayden inappropriately kissing the girl while he was undressed, according to a deputy’s statement attached to the warrant for Hayden’s arrest.

Hayden’s business, Red Jacket Firearms LLC, released a statement describing the allegations as “false charges” made by “an angry woman who Will has recently ended his relationship with.”

“These allegations were raised well more than a week ago in connection with and retaliation for Will ending that relationship,” the statement reads.

C. Frank Holthaus, Hayden’s attorney, said the accusations were made by a woman who Hayden recently fired from a job at his gun shop. Holthaus also said Hayden’s relationship with the woman was only professional in nature, not romantic.

“She has nothing to do with this child that she claims was somehow abused,” Holthaus said.

Hayden does not share any children with the woman, Holthaus said.

During the investigation, which began Aug. 5, deputies asked Hayden to submit to a lie detector test, Holthaus said.

They agreed to do so as long as deputies also forced the woman making the accusations to submit to a lie detector test. But a deputy refused the deal, Holthaus said, which eventually led to Hayden’s arrest Friday night.

Holthaus declined to comment on the details of the allegations, adding that the matter would be handled in a courtroom.

“This is only the beginning,” the attorney said.

The East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff’s Office declined to comment on anything related to the investigation, citing the decision by a state district judge to sign the affidavit of probable cause, which included a stipulation that the request for the accompanying arrest warrant not be disclosed.

However, the judge, state District Judge Bonnie Jackson, said she never sealed the warrant from public view.

“I never signed any order to seal,” Jackson said. “I just signed the arrest warrant. I never saw a motion to seal. I didn’t seal a thing.”

Jackson noted that the words “under seal” were written on an envelope containing the affidavit and arrest warrant that a sheriff’s deputy brought to her house on Friday. The judge signed both documents.

According to the affidavit, the girl told detectives in an interview that she had not been sexually abused by Hayden. However, when detectives asked her why she thought she was being interviewed, she replied that the suspect had told her “it was about him molesting me,” the affidavit says.

Hayden told deputies that he was wearing “boxer brief type underwear” when the woman walked in.

Stephanie Hayden Ford, a daughter of Hayden’s who manages the gun shop and stars in the show, released a statement in support of her father.

“There was never any impropriety in our home,” Ford said. “He was and is a good father.”

“Sons of Guns” follows Hayden and several other people involved in manufacturing and selling custom-made guns at the shop located just north of South Choctaw Drive near Monterrey Boulevard in Baton Rouge. The show’s first season aired in 2011.

The show’s most recent episode, part of its fifth season, aired in early May, according to the Discovery Channel’s website.

Laurie Goldberg, a Discovery Channel spokeswoman, declined to comment when reached by phone on Monday.

If charged and convicted on the count of aggravated crimes against nature, Hayden would face a prison sentence of 25 years to 99 years in prison.

The penalties accompany a conviction when the victim is younger than 13 and the perpetrator is older than 17 under amendments to state law proposed this spring by legislators and later signed into law by Gov. Bobby Jindal that recently went into effect.

My brother-in-law is going through a similar deal but only it's a divorce. He married this younger woman from Argentina and after she got her 'anchor baby' and citizenship, she threw him to the curb and said he molested their child and abused her. He's in his mid 60's and shes in her mid 40's and was married for over 10 years. I didn't like her from the very start and even warned him but love (lust?) is blind. The divorce has been on going for over 2 years now but funny thing is that he's allowed visitation with his daughter. If you're accused of child molestation, that doesn't happen so how was he allowed visitation?? He is also allowed to have Skype sessions with her and she seems happy to visit with him like that and gets along with him well. The first time I met him was in the early 70's and just don't see him being a child molester. He also has a son in his mid 30's from a previous marriage and there's no sign of anything like that between them.

Ah... now this is a different story all together. A co-worker of mine went through this in the 1990s. He married a gal with two daughters, then when they broke up she thought he would come crawling back, and when he found someone else she got all flipped out and suddenly her youngest daughter was a long-time rape victim. The cops arrested him, and we knew the charges were bogus so we bailed him out.

It ended up going to trial after months of the state's attorneys trying to get him to make a plea deal. His former daughter got up on the stand, and it was obvious she had been coached by her mom as to what to say. She understood the basic mechanics of sex, but none of the more mundane details. Plus she was claiming he was raping her four or five times a night, night after night. The jury went out at 11:00, ordered pizza for lunch, ate it, and came back with a Not Guilty verdict by 12:30.

The two things that really ticked us off was the State's Attorney who handled the case was frigging crying on her table after the verdict! She was still positive he had been raping his daughter even after 100% of the evidence was proven to be a lie. The other thing was there's nothing that can be done about a woman who files a false charge like this. No state's attorney anywhere will file charges because they'll be labeled as insensitive and dissuading women from filing charges out of fear they'll be arrested if they can't prove their case. And as a result this crap keeps happening.

I remember when I first applied for an FFL. The first question they asked was "are you intending to purchase any guns for your own use?" and when I said "sure, I'll probably keep some for myself" that was the end of that interview. :) That's one of the problems with FFLs... you can get guns really cheap, but not for yourself. And when you're talking Class III weapons, since the FOPA of 1986, it's illegal to manufacture or import any selective fire or automatic firearm for an individual, but there was Hayden talking about how the M2 he made was for himself, and that's a big time violation. There are guys in jail right now because they bought a AR-15 build-up guns at gun shows that the builder had mistakenly put some M-16 parts in to. Even if the firearm can't fire in automatic mode, just having say a wrong safety selector installed will get you put into jail. And yet there's Hayden building up all these automatics for people and then talking about transferring them. You can't transfer a newly made Class III weapon to an individual! Those are Fed laws, not local. :)

Still unclear what the accusation actually is even the victim says she does not know why only what they told her? wtf kind of justice system they runnin down there in byu? sounds like some bs revenge stuff from the pissed off chick who got canned, she probably hit on him got him to stick it in then tried the typical chick nonsense and he bolted andwhen she got all but hurt and startd to make a scene he canned her *** now she is trying to get back at him like this?

......it is sad indeed when the law can be used in such a way, and in many states a physical exam would reveal the truth of these accusations. Sadly, again, the child is caught in the middle.......but in this case, the termination of the employee would need to be reviewed and the complaint, examined in its sequence to the events......interesting defense. Either way, this guy is going to go through hell to get this over with......or buried in a La. prison for 35 years........

give it time, we will hear more may be truth or may be lies you never no :thinker:

Child molesters disguise themselves very well. That's why they get away with it for so long. My uncle who was a Baptists preacher for half his life molested 2 children that he and his wife fostered then later adopted. He also molested his own son. Yes he does deserve his 'due process', but just because you have known & trusted someone for years does not mean they are ok. After all they hide their actions very well and its not meant by them for anyone to find out.

It seem some already want to convict the guy already, no due process, we'll see soon enough, to not to jump to any conclusions of guilt or innocence, in one way or another...

There are also some truly vindictive people, who bring on or fabricate such things too, wouldn't be the 1st time, some just for notoriety or monetary reasons, all speculations/conjecture so far, one persons word against another...

I don't know the guy, like 99.9% of the rest of us/you, we just see/know his character on a TV show, that's all I have to go on...
Nothing more, I won't convict the guy tell "all the facts", come out...

If he did do the despicable stuff he's claimed to "allegedly have done", he will/should be convicted & rightly so, the courts & a jury of his peers, will/can do that...

If he didn't, than I would hope our justice system would, do as much as they have to make him look " allegedly guilty" in the public eyes, before he's tried or has his due process, as they should to say he was "allegedly wrongly accused", if that becomes the case too...
