I've used a couple of them, I didn't have any issues, but then I was using an aftermarket fuel gauge. It worked just as well as the one that came with the car in '65. I replaced both the tank and the sender with Spectra parts.
When I went EFI, I fabbed up a return port into it. there was just enough room that it worked pretty well. I now have a custom, baffled tank I got from Rick's Tanks using their drop-in sender.
Thanks for that. Yeah, also planning on an after market gauge, and using a Spectra tank.
Gotta wonder why so much difference in design, between OEM, and these others.
When i replaced my tank and sender, they were quite a bit alike... I didn't see much difference. The sending unit was spot on... except my 50 year old sender was missing the filter... it disintegrated! haha
Well, since I'm only slightly hard-headed, ordered a nos sender. States it's a 3/8", out of the box, on the shelf for awhile, sporting minor rust. Under $40...we'll see...only one he had.
