purchased a set of speed master adjustable rockers / the bolts that hold the shaft on the head with the stand bottom out in the head can NOT tighten stand down what am i doing wrong wrong???
used some shorter bolts laying around to mock up and when snug some rockers are rubbing my retainer did i step in **** with these rockers
motor stock 340 fresh build would like the option to adjust each valve individual
stock motor uses 1.5 i purchased 1.6 rockers is the rubbing against the retainer with changing to 1.6 the issue?
any suggestions for a set of rockers within reason
thanks

Since I don't know the specifics of your build

You may have to (if you still want to use them specific ones)
mill the rockers so they can clear the retainers
or go to a 'behive' style spring & retainers
or a smaller diameter spring & retainers

or find some roller rocker with more clearance, where you need it
many of them will list what size retainer or valve spring they will clear
I had great luck with Super Gold, Cranes I have a set on my current engine
& Harlem Sharp, HS are much more expensive, I have a set on my 5.2ltr Magnum...

if that actually the problem you have, & it's not something else
if it's not something else
like different style or height of lifters, small base circle camshaft
&/or too short of push rods etc.
maybe just a retainer change (?) without knowing specifics it's hard to say

nothing wrong with going to 1.6:1 over the 1.5:1's if you can use them,
10% more lift
& If you have the proper valve to piston clearances
& If it will fit the retainers & springs you will use

I ran into that stuff with SBCs back in the day,
it was pretty common when using higher rocker ratios &
too big of diameter valve springs/& retainers 'for those specific style of rockers'
never really had the problem on MoPars, didn't build but a few SBMs
lots of B/RBs & Hemis
