Hi

Has anyone heard of or used Speedmaster connecting rods? I was looking into purchasing a new set of rods and came across these rods and at really good prices.
They had 3 versions: I beam 5140 for 600hp H beam 4340 for 850hp and I beam 4340 for 1000hp
the rods I looked at are for a 471 stroker build 6.535 rods

At the same time i was either contemplating in machining a 440 crank to fit 400 mains and offset grinding the rod journals to 3.915 or just buying a brand new peice and not deal with the headaches of machine shops.
Does the older crank hold up for a street engine or better going to a 4340 crank

Thanks in advance for the advise

The stuff reeks of import to me.
The "best" import stuff going now is K1, Molinar, Compstar, and Scat. Even then, some cranks really should be spec ground to get the clearances perfect. Keep in mind, even the "best" quality import parts are the "worst" when compared to domestic mfg.
