The speedometer on my 77 cordoba is making noise and spinning wildly. I think it needs to be greased, but I don't know where to grease it at. Can someone tell me?

What do you mean spinning wildly?Jumping up and down...Not really reading anything...It can be one of two things...get a new cable or your speedo gear in your tranny is stripped...

Sorry to get off topic but just wondering mine jumps from 0-20mph when i'm driving under 15mph what would that most likely be or could you tell?

Sounds like the cable is frayed in the housing.

Has the gear at the trans been out/ moved?

Usually, by time you realize the cable should be greased, it needs to be replaced. My $.02

Unscrew the cable housing from the trans. Pull the cable out. Grease it up real good. Re-install it in the housing (you will have to turn it while stabbing it when it reaches the speedometer head so it will slip into the speedometer head. Re-attach the cable housing to the trans and your problem should be gone.

If the cable is frayed when you remove it, it and the cable housing will have to be replaced, but this usually works just fine.

Good point. You might be able to save it with lubrication if it isn't already frayed.

if it's dry, it can skip inside the housing/sheath.

I did sve one like this but did the greasing from the speedo end as well.
