i am replacing my cable its already out,how about using the white lithium grease on cable before i install it back on car?or will trans fluid be better? This works well for me. Remove the cable then find a hose that can be clamped around the cable and attach a small funnel, fill it with ATF then work the cable with a drill with the hose being held in a vise. If you pay attention to the spiral in the cable and spin it the right direction it will help pull the lube threw the cable. I like to get as much fluid threw it as possible to flush it out too. This trick got my factory parking brake cables working perfectly after 48 years.
I suggested the tranny fluid cause it sounded like the OP really didn't want to take anything out. I can't imagine the white lithium grease would hurt but if you have to add gear oil to the tranny, why not just add a few drops of the same stuff.i am replacing my cable its already out,how about using the white lithium grease on cable before i install it back on car?or will trans fluid be better?
