So I put this rallye dash into my 70 satellite and the speedometer bounces all over the place just bought a new cable and installed it as well.. what are my options? can the speedometere be rebuilt por do i need to get another one? could the issue be at the trans ? not even sure what rear end is in the car but I need to fix the speedo so I dont get pulled over... 70 sport satellite with a charger rallye dash , 440/727 combo

99ss,i dont have the fix for you but mine is doing the same,im going to remove the dash this winter and im hopeing it is a build up of old grease over the years. So i will clean it the best i can and see how that works ,i have an extra speedo cable so i will hook it up to a drill or something and check it out ,if not i guess i will have to go shopping

I'm thinking maybe the gear is stripped in the trans, not sure at the moment but its 100-200 to have dashworx look at it.. I'm not ready to do a restoration on the interior right now so I will get an aftermarket one for cheap and see if it works.. if not its the send off? unit in the trans, if it does then its the speedo itself..

OK found it in the manual

speedo pinion is what its called

Well I found my issue, its the speedo.. hooked up the new speedo and I think it actually read correct but.. it takes a 5/8-18 nut and the mopar uses a plastic clip... guy on ebay makes them but its more time under the car and more money.. the the original needs to be fixed and it could be as much as 200 from dashworx..... that along with the tic toc and ammeter is going to be another like 400 on this effing dash
