Ive had my 66 Belvedere on the road for a while now, and its just now starting to act up. Its runs fine if i cruise it slowly around town, but when i hit it hard, or stay at a constant 3 or 3 1/2 rpm range, it starts to spudder, and loosing power, kinda like its running out of fuel!! But as soon as i slow down, it idles and drives slowly just fine!! I'm thinking the fuel filter might be clogged, idk!! what you guys think!!

Also i just changed out my fuel sending unit, and put an aftermarket fuel gauge in it. I believe i wired up everything correctly, but having a little problem. When the float is in the full position the gauge reads full, but when the float is in the Empty position the gauge reads 3/4 full. Is there an adjustment somewhere, or ????

Thanks!!

I had a similar problem on my Satellite. Turned out to be the accelerator pump in the carb. Might be worth a check.

I had a similar problem when I replaced the float in my original unit. How full is your fuel filter staying?
I noticed my pump was barely keeping my filter full and the engine was acting like it was lean sometimes. After one full throttle run I actually ran the carb out of gas and killed the engine!
I hadn't replaced the little stump of rubber line between the body line and the sender - my pump was sucking air through some small crack in the line. I replaced it with new rubber and all was well.
