Yep... still removing my brightwork to send to Advanced Plating.... Any idea how to remove the trim pieces from the quarter window assembly? At 1st look it seems they are riveted in.... Trying to break it down to send just the stainless section to the polisher and not the entire piece... thoughts?

Its just a tight fit, and with years of being on there it needs a little help. I used a small strip of wood to butt up against the trim and a mallet to tap it off

I updated the pictures... and I dont believe I can tap it off with a mallet.. anyone?

There is a screw at the top of the side glass ( IN THE SIDE GLASS CHANNEL ). You are right on the rest ( riveted in near the bottom glass near the 90 degree and where the chrome is attached to the steel frame near that sheet metal tab. Also they peen over spots to adhere the pot metal chrome piece to the steel frame ( you have to grind this off ), but there are a extra set you can use to re- peen that section on the 45 deg. angle. ( By the way are you talking about advanced custom chrome in P.A because that's where mine were platted.

thanks. I am not sure what you mean by peen. can you clarify? I was planning to use Advanced Plating out of Tennessee.

Hello. Peining is a term where for example you put a steel stud through a hole and you hit it with a ball pein hammer so it does not come back through the hole because it is peined over or mushroomed over. That is how the chrome piece on the angle is held on. I had mine totally broken down myself and sent them out for plating earlier this year. Hope this helps.
