I have the standard steering wheel, its in good shape, my buddy gave me a tough steering wheel, it needs to be re-wrapped. but it is not to bad to use as is..

opinions ??should i put it on or keep the original ?

i would have to buy the adapter and horn button and horn button assembly for the tough wheel

Do you have power steering? Little harder to steer with manual steering and the smaller wheel on a B body.

yes i have power steering

Then personal preference. You have a pic of the original style wheel? The only thing I can comment on is when I did my 68 Charger. I see everyone has the woodgrain wheels so I opted to keep the really nice original black wheel with the chrome horn ring. I have a woodgrain wheel on my Runner and just wanted something different than what I always see on others cars. Not sure how crazy the tuff wheel fad is yet, but I sure do see alot of them on the A bodies and after awhile its nice to see something different. Just some food for thought and something to consider. :D

old pic, sorry, seats have been redone ! only pic i could find with steering wheel in it

I almost like the original wheel with the same color as the interior rather than the black tuff wheel. On black interior cars it looks cool, but I think it might take away from the interior with the black wheel and adapter being there. Just my opinion.I guess if I did it I would paint the adapter "can" piece the color of interior and then use the black wheel, but I am kinda diggin the original wheel.

There are 3 things that scream "MOPAR" to me; pistol grip shifter, air grabber and tuff wheel.. I have a tuff wheel in pretty much every one of my cars although the one in my Cuda is tuff wheel "like". I just bought a 71 Charger and it has 2 pretty nice 3 spoke blue steering wheels but I will not be using either, will definitely be a tuff wheel.

I wonder how it would look if i had the tuff wheel rewrapped in a tan-ish leather , maybe a shade darker that the interior, i do like the original wheel, just trying to get some opinions

It's hard to beat a Tuff Wheel for comfort and looks.

Very similar to modern sport wheels.

What took them so long?

...and a tan tuff wheel is the holy grail of tuff wheels.

IIRC only available on Mirada/Cordoba.

I had one for a while but sold it cheap because the color was coming off.

Saw it later for $400

There is a guy that professionally re-wraps tuff wheels.

I believe he offers the service through his Little Red Express resto site.

The tan ones in a tan/brown interior look really good. I saw a red one in a Cuda that had a red interior and it looked awesome.

You can buy custom wraps for almost any steering wheel. I like mine!

I personally like the feel of the factory thinner steering wheels, but thats just me. The tuff wheels are much larger and remind me of driving a new Toyota, just my 2 cents

I agree with the stock wheel; it's a stark change from my daily driver's with the larger diameter rim when I take my car for a ride. Though I don't drive my old Plymouth as often as I'd like to, the grip of the thinner wheel is kind a refreshing change. Maybe if I drove it everyday I'd prefer the upgrade wheel.

The first 73/74 Satellite I ever saw (when I was about 5) was JY3 with a tan slap stick interior.

I loved looking through the windows and imagining driving it.
