Any advise on the best way to go about changing out the steering box on a 65 Belvedere II? I have a 440 motor in the car presently.

In looking at the clearances, it appears I would have to drop the headers, power steering pump and pull the bolt out of the motor mount. Then jack up the motor on that side.

Can anyone tell me if this is the route to take while doing this?

That's how I would do it. Make sure that the binding of the tranny mount doesn't break it, I pull those bolts too.You may have to remove the passenger mount bolt. And remove the driver side mount completely.

I was able to do mine without moving the engine or 2" TTI's. May depend on your header combo.

I should have said that I did this on a 64 barracuda that the owner wanted his manual box replaced with a power box.Easy coming out but TIGHT going in !!
