For 68-69 b-body, are there different steering column cages? I know shaft lengths for manual vs power are different and obviously the housings for column shift vs floor, but the parts book lists 3 different: column shift manual, column shift auto & floor shift. I had always thought the cages were interchangeable. Trying to buy a replacement and sellers are telling me they're all the same.

I believe the cages are all the same..... at least they're the same between a column shift auto & a floor shift.

Same feedback that I always thought - they're the same. Wonder why 3 different part numbers in an original Chrysler parts book?

same lenghts , widths , # diamond cut outs ... etc. one has no cut out for the bottom end , one has cut out for auto shift and the last one has cut-out for 3 speed manual on tree.

Thank you! Now it makes sense.

they are not the same. 68 auto's have the reverse lights switch on the column. 69's do not. and the length is also different on the 68 auto. hope this helps.
