I got the column shaft disconnected from the box. Is the coupler replaceable and If I rotate the shifter lever will I be able To remove column so I can clean and paint the shaft Thanks 002.JPG003.JPG

You don't remove the shifter lever to remove the column. There are three bolts towards the top of the column and four on the firewall holding it in. The coupler has a rebuild kit available but I don't believe they have them new. The rebuild kit is basically a new press pin, seal, and cap. The repro caps suck so clean and reuse your own. I also don't recommend using the new pin because its a pain the butt to remove and install your old one that already there should be fine. The repro seals are not the right color but I think you can get them somewhere in black. These rebuild kits are available through Mopar, ebay, etc...

Now that I glance at your pic again you've already got the four bolts out of the firewall so if the three are out at the top it should just slide out.

Thanks, It was late when I tried to remove it. Came right out today. I will remove the steering wheel before I put it back in it will make it alot easier.
