While I agree with Mr. Mike, what you plan
to use will work. Be prepared for more road
feel and vibrations being transmitted to
your steering wheel. Also for faster "kick back"
should you hit a pot hole or speed bump.
The steering system on the build I'm
working on has no rubber/fiber coupler, but
instead, makes a 90 deg turn thru a mitre
box. Usually with a solid coupler, on long
highway trips, steering wheel vibrations
can actually make your hands numb, or a
"fall asleep" feeling as there's no 'give' to
the system, and the steering picks up
all road vibrations.
Note the miter box and steering coupler
in the pics. This build will not be driven on
long hauls where the sleepy hands affect
occurs. The rubber/fiber couplers reduce
the frequency of road feel.
