The steering wheel on my 63 4dr Belvedere is falling all to pieces. Not sure is someone can save it or not. Wondering if anyone was using an aftermarket one? Trying to see what I like.

Kramer Automotive or Stephens Performance has replacement "Black" steering wheels. There are other vendors also.

classic industries... have the three basic colors, you can paint any color you need though.

Charlie Quarter does them for a good price, and does a great job! Has wheels all over the USA and Europe. if you want I will pm you his number.

Is it just cracked like this? grind the cracks , fill with plexus a little bondo and whala. Going on year 3 , still looks perfect.

Pc-7 epoxy works well too. That's what comes in Eastwoood restoration kits. You can get it at hardware stores like True Value.

I got my steering wheel from Classic industries and painted it in the car color which is gold in single stage paint and it looks great. steering wheel price was @ $250.00

This is my wheel finished. It was REALLY bad, cracked, broken etc.

It was teal green like the rest of the interior.

I geound out all the cracks with an angle grinder and dremel and PC-7 epoxied it.

They have SO MUCH surface area that it takes a while to prep. One thing I can suggest is to mount the wheel to an engine stand when painting. It makes painting a LOT easier!6082358-DSCN2980.JPG

What kinda paint are you using? And, is it holding up?

Mine is single stage PPG urethane. 3 years no issues. My wheel is removed every time I get in and out of the car as well.

Finally got some pics of the wheel.

Yeah, some of them can be really rough and might be pretty tough to tackle. In my case, I got lucky and found a much nicer one to restore. My original one was really far gone - as bad or worse than yours.

Here's my home made painting rig - LOL.
