Can this wheel be correct?
I can't find a pic of one like it.
1965 Belveder II
Thanks

That wheel is not correct for a 65 if thats what your asking.

Ok can anyone identify this wheel?
Would all 1965 Plymouth b bodies have the same wheel with the chrome horn ring?

I'm thinking 66 or 67. Heres what was in my 65 Belvedere II. Seen it in a full ring too.

I asked the same question about my 65 Coronet, got the same replies, which are incorrect. That is an optional wood grain wheel that was available on my Coronet, most likely avail on yours also.

The door locks have a wood band on them too. Looks like I need to do some more reasearch.
Thank you.
It is a 426 wedge car. I have the window sticker and fender tag. No mention of steering wheel options. I did not find the build sheet. I looked under the rear seat. That is where I usually find them. I am more familiar with the 66-72 models.
Where else would the build sheet be on a 62-65?

More on that wheel. The orig owner that I bought the car from said it has never been off the car, that's the wheel that was on the car when he bought it new. Gary's restoration had a post on here and he had that wheel listed as an optional B body 64-66 I believe. My build sheet was in the springs of the rear seat.

Ok just to clarify. From what I have found this wheel was available on 64-66 cars. Not sure what option you had to check to get it.
I took off the horn button. The collom nut has no tool marks on it. It looks like a puller was never on this collom or wheel.
Looks like you learn something new every day.

It may or may not be original, but either way i like it, i'd leave it. wish i could find one that nice for my 65. just my opinion,
John

That wheel might have been a dealer option! In 40 years of owning and restoring the 64-65 B-bodies I have never seen or heard of one available!A -body possible,66-67 Chargers, optional on the b's

Not bragging, but I've probably done about as much research on 65 B-bodies as anyone and having owned two 65 Belvedere II's (first one was bought new in 65) and the current 65 Satellite, I can tell you that wheel was not offered as an option on 64-65 B-bodies. In 64 and 65, it was available only on the Barracuda. I believe it carried over on the Barracuda for 66 and 67 and was possibly available on 67 B-bodies (Chargers, for sure), but not on 64 & 65 B-bodies. And though B-bodies and A-bodies were assembled in different plants during those years, we all know some bastard kids came off the assembly lines with items never intended for the respective model. Also, before I get replies stating modular retractable seat belts weren't available in 65, those in the picture are from a 71 Charger.

Steering wheels were usually not offered as an option but were included in a package. IE, my 66 Belvedere II has a different wheel than my 66 Belvedere I. My 'II' was bought new and my 'I' came to me from the original owner who never changed anything except for the oil lol. Anyways, as ilm65 stated, ChryCo made some bastard cars just like Ford and Chevy did...

Well my second owner 65 Coronet 500 came with that wheel, orig buyer couldn't tell you if it was dealer installed or not but it came that way when picked up at dealer. I have what's left of the orig build sheet, don't know what the numbers on it mean though.
Built at Los Angeles plant, purchased at Whittier Dodge.

X2 with this one!

I have the same wood grain wheel on my 65 Coronet 500, I checked my build sheet and there is a block for "strng wheel & horn ring", the code entered is XH
Anyone else with a build sheet please see what yours says with the corresponding steering wheel on your car.

If there wasn't more then one wheel available why would the build sheet have a space for codes?

My car is very original. The interior is the original carpet and such.
I did not find a build sheet under the rear seat.
I have not taken the interior apart so I may still find the build sheet.
I'd I find it I'll post it.
