I have been looking for a decent Part Number 2996716 (Black Steering Wheel) for a 70 Roadrunner. I have seen a couple pop up on ebay but by in large they are as in bad as shape as mine. And I will be damned if I am going to pay $200+ for some cracked up/broken up piece of junk on par with what I have.

Anyway, I will probably just end up trying to refurb the one that I have; however, I dont want to not be able to drive the car while I spend who know how long refurbing this thing.

My question is - Anyone know of a decent priced 3rd party wheel that will go on the 70 RR without having to sacrifice a chicken and a virgin to get it to fit and one that actually works with the existing factory horn mechanisms?

I have searched for replacement wheels and a lot claim to work with it...But I know in reality they are gonna be a massive headwound.

Just curious if anyone has actually replaced their 70RR wheel with something that went on well and actually worked with the horn without having to hack the hell out of the car or wheel.

Repro Tuff Wheel?

The biggest obdtacle you'll have is trying to duplicate the pebble grain finish on your 70 steering wheel. Your best bet is to buy a new one from Mike at BEA Parts and use your horn pad, switch etc.

Thanks. I bought one from these guys http://www.beaparts.com/online_catalog.aspx at the Mopar Nats in Columbus this past weekend. No shipping or tax so... It works great. I just need to get used to feeling the peeble grain again. LOL been smooth for so long.
