them but the price was acceptable.

Nice find! How heavy are they, I've always wondered?

THEY ARE REALLY CLEAN-- just this film of dust and surface rust- remember in the old days the hardtoppers would take their old flathead fords and SBC blocks and let them sit for a year or two in the weather till they rusted up, they swore it made the blocks stronger. I may just wire brush them and put some rust mort on them.

they run about 28 pounds each. heavier than I remembered but lighter than the replica's being made although the replica's are spot on. must be getting weak in my old age. these return me to my roots in the early 60's as real touch with the past. can't believe it was 55 years ago I bought a new '63 Plymouth Savoy SS426 car.

Sweet find. I always thought those looks so cool when installed.

The Tri-Y cast iron manifolds are really awesome and extremely rare.

Wow Geri - you are a gem from the golden age of the muscle car era. Old enough to have bought a new 426! My cousin had talked his dad some how into co-signing on a brandy new '64 Polara 426 4sp. He got a lot of trophies with it. I might guess you did or won a bunch of cash running it. If ya got a pic of your car please post it.

nice score!its always fun when that kind of thing happens...I had a similar experience years ago at a local swap meet....1st thing in the morning, coffee in hand, almost tripped over the same max exhaust manifolds..40.00! sold!..this was before the internet took off...sold them awhile later at a car show to help with the down payment on my house ..not for 40.00 though!lol.

sadly I have no pictures of it, they were so common then it didn't seem a necessity-I regret that now. it was a white savoy blue int radio.heater and 426SS max wedge package, the superstock package was a $700.00 extra- worth it. total out the door $2904.00.
it was my only car/daily driver I ran it at Vaca ville lost to Chuck Poole when he had his '65 Hemi belvedere. I raced it at fremont on borrowed 7" bruce slicks, I beat Blair speed in the first round with their black '62 dodge.? plymouth? can't remember,it wasnt that I was good I think they just took me for granted and got caught sleeping. I raced Tommy Grove (Melrose Missile)2nd round-I had the best seat in the house to see him win that round....I mostly just raced on the street(original street outlaws?) and as I've said before I had these cars for my own pleasure- but wow, was it a fun ride. keep in mind I went from a '53 Olds that weighed over 4ooo lbs Id guess (big 4 door) that ran 15.0s at 89 mph to an off the showroom floor car that ran 109 at mid 12's. yummy.

Those were the days I caught the last few years of wasting no time though getting in trouble with my local PD; they put a bulls-eye on my back early since my older brother paved the way (pun intended) for me. Amazed a lot of us made it through unscathed.
