2-1/8" O.D. or 2-5/8" O.D.? 727 AND 8-3/4 3:55's all stock.

My guess is you have a 7260, which is the smaller one.

The 7290 joint should be used on all big blocks. That would be the 2 5/8" joint.

Not sure how everyone answered definitively, can't it be either? Heck, it could even be a conversion u joint with both the small and large size on it. Sure, big blocks 'should' have the large yoke, but you can't assume that.

In 74, I bought a 70 340 Challenger and it had a big one in the front and a small joint in the back. Go figure.

if the car was originally a 22" radiator, 3.23 8 3/4 it would have 7260's. if the car originally came with a 26" radiator and 3.55 8 3/4 it would have 7290's; especially if a 4spd.

I'm sorry, I just realized the title said 'stock u joint size". If I only had a brain lol.

It could have either 7260 or 90, if it had a stick then it could have 7290, however i have seen 1 ton trucks with 7260 and they were sticks, and then seen factory w150 single cab short bed slants with 5380 series which totally boggles the fukin mind wth they were thinking to stick that in there....so there is no specific way without looking to know wth is in there.
