Gotta a couple of things going on with the Coronet, since getting it back from my friend who did quite a bit of work on it recently. I do not believe anything he did has caused these two problems, but who knows?

First is the power steering, which I had replaced both the high and low pressure hoses, along with new clamps on the low hose. At speed, the car wants to pull right. I don't remember the car wanting to do that before I replaced the hoses. Is it possible that just that pressure of removing the low-pressure hose or replacing it on the power steering valve, caused that valve body to move either direction just enough to cause the car to want to steer right when the wheel is let go? Correct me if I'm wrong, but if that valve were the problem, the steering wheel would jerk either left or right the instant the car started up? I haven't whacked any curbs, but who's to say that the alignment might be off a little bit? Thoughts?

Next is the car on heavy acceleration. It feels almost like I'm towing something! The response is not crisp, and the car will (not always) jerk ever-so-slightly, like I'm pulling a trailer upwind. It almost feels like the car is running out of fuel, but I don't get that sensation unless I'm in the gas. It's not predictable, either. Sometimes it does, and sometimes it runs perfectly! Idle and performance at part-throttle feel good. I've even checked the rear axle lube to make sure it wasn't dry, as I had an incident years ago with another car where I ran the car with the rear end dry - very bad move, and the problem was unknown to me until I ground to a halt after the rear seized up!

1. Pulling right ONLY at speed - Maybe a front wheel bearing nut is loose? Alignment off just a little? Ball joint going bad? Upper/Lower control arm bushing going bad?

2. Hard acceleration "OCCASIONALLY" not good - Maybe a fuel filter is plugged? Otherwise, do a tune-up & check your carburetor.

Everything in the front end was replaced with polyurethane parts in 2003, and have maybe 1,000 miles. Looking at the bearings this afternoon, and going from that point.

Plugs, wires, rotor, and cap are all new. Timing is dead-on. Fuel pump and filter have <200 miles on them. Carb is new. I was thinking a plugged or defective filter as the cause, and that is a cheap & easy fix.
