I rarely go to the track, so far only once a year, BUT I would like to go and run my car more often (test and tune night) and maybe some informal grudge racing. I really want to build a 5xx cu in 6xxHP/6xxTQ stroker motor when I can afford it. I mostly go to cruise ins and car shows, but as I said, especially after the stroker motor is reality, I will likely go to the track more often, but not for a formal competition...
I was pretty sure I was going the route of CalTracks for improved traction and performance, and I still have some basic, simple improvements I can make to the stock suspension (shocks, loosen/remove the front sway bar, etc). The CalTracks, HD spring perches, and US Car Tools spring relocation kit (for future track only wider slicks-for now my 315/35/17 Toyo Proxes TQ drag radials for everyday work nice) would cost about $980 with the same Viking double adjustable rear shocks. The Street Lynx kit which would also give me more clearance for wider tires and includes the same shocks is double that price. I am inclined to go with the Street Lynx as they seem to be significantly better, and I only want to mod the rear once. I understand that the CalTracks are sufficient for many who go faster than I ever expect to, but if I do something for the rear suspension, I have no problem going with a much "better" system given the difference in cost.

Opinoins/advice please?? Thanks.

Heres my .02 cents.
Are you going to put any type of roll bar in it? 5 point harness, etc.?
The reason I ask is why spend the money on the rear setup if you dont need it?
I was running 11.20 with my GTX with worn out springs and et streets!
That was too fast for having only a stock seatbelt.
I was only making about 400hp to the wheels.
Why not keep the stock suspension?

Also, if you want to change, give Gerstsuspensions.com a look.
He has everything for the front and rear of your car.

Gerst is one of the nicest pieces to come around ,but he is so popular now that he can't keep up is what I hear,so ,if you're not in a hurry he is the best bet

I may have a "basic" rollbar in the future, or whatever is required depending on how fast it gets. I am definitely going to get the US CarTools frame ties kit components. I haven't experienced wheel hop afaik, and I think I would know, but I have to leave at idle and then get into it or I lose traction in 1st gear, although the new wheels and Toyo Proxes TQ drag radials helped. I saw Gerst when he started out, and I saw him at the Mopar Nationals this year. Nice stuff. Thanks for the replies.

Check out www.ridetech.com too...

you can get them in coil-over or {air-wave ?}air-ride

decent set-up for a mostly street driven, a bolt in application
they have some great reviews too, for what they are...

a bunch of pro-touring guys love them...

I personally like the rear suspension from control freak. It's a very nice driving setup, will handle more than you are talking about throwing at it, and has nearly the adjustment of a full 4 link built in

Weekend bump...thanks for all of the replies. Anyone actually using the RMS Street Lynx system??

Some pictures from today.

That's really cool! I currently have 3" exhaust system with a X pipe...I usually open my Doug's electronic cutouts at the track and often for Crusin the Coast, and I like my stock style chrome tips. It would be nice if I could have 3" out the back exhaust AND a 4 link.

Have StreetLynx now for 2 years . Only issue was the coils on supplied shocks where too week. Had coil bind. Changed coil rating and no issues until now. Installation was okay. Rides good on street with 572 Hemi in 69 RR.
With Dana S60 the exhaust over axle is a No Go.

Waiting for my street lynx to get delivered, should be here in a couple weeks
