I have the superbird headlights working but they leak down fast and open when not running. I know they will do this but they only stay closed for several minutes. Is there a valve that keeps them from leaking back through the intake when not running?

Thanks in advance for any help

I never really dived into the system to hard but on my car I believe there is a vacuum canister in line that prevents them from bleeding out and opening up

I changed the canister under the battery tray but it was used. Maybe the one way valve is built into the vacuum canister.

most likely you a leak in the system , most common areas are the switch at the dash , or the hoses them self have a pin hole . Also the vacuum pod/actuators them selfs are common to leak ( same as a 69 charger vacuum pod ) wilson products in st louis does a great job of rebuilding them . Also the vacuum cannister under the battery tray will develope leaks ( rust is common on them . )

I can use a hand pump and they stay closed for quitea bit longer. There must be a valve somewhere or it would leak through the intake manifold. Just like the power brakes have a check valve to keep from leaking back into the intake manifold.

The only check valve in the system is in the reserve tank under the battery tray,95% of the problems are the headlight switch then the vacuum canisters.
