hey there guys im working on a 68 charger and its a complete rebuild I am not looking at doing a stock rebuild, so my suspension question is which is better to put in should I stay with the leaf springs or go with a coilover suspension. thanks for your input in advance.

I think it depends on what you are looking to do with your car. I like going straight and fast plus cruising around so I am going with Calvert leaf springs and Caltracs. But if you are inclined to road race where cornering and handling are top priority then a more exotic rear suspension would probably be the ticket. Just my 2 cents....good luck. :headbang:

Don't forget to factor in the cost of your options.

Alterkation kit front and rear, or for a complete kick *** set call Ron at Magnum force.

thanks guys this is my first build and I need all the help I can get lol ill be on here a lot see yall around

Welcome to the site from a neighbor. It boils down to what you want to do with the car and how much do you want to spend. I've been able to make these old cars handle pretty good using the stock stuff too but replacing the rubber with poly bushings....

I have both types on two different cars. Leaf springs offer a more comfortable ride and the coilover not as nice but sporty ride.

I agree with Cranky...poly bushings are the way to go along with upgraded front and rear sway bars, torsion bars and the proper shocks will make your charger drive nice and tight. Keep the leaf springs imo

Leafs work good for me. Coil over is getting into exotic territory. Choice.
