This is how the sway bar was attached on the a 1964 Polara. I realize this isn't exactly what you are going for, but it seems there isn't a lot of room on the Lower Control arm to be drilling holes.

Just one thought. If you are going with a disc brake conversion you have to go with rear mounted calipers if you have the factory sway bar. Which I found out the hard way. The front mounted calipers interfere with the mounting bracket from the sway bar to the struts.

funny, I was just going to ask about that!
Is an aftermarket sway bar available and in a stock type set up? I've looked around but haven't found anything pre 66.
 
Firmfeel makes a couple for the 63. Pictures show my install. The angle tabs attach with the shock mounting bolts. Works great.
