Here's some pictures of my '69 Road Runner, in 1986, the first picture is at a show in Cypress Park Ca.
a few weeks after that I added the Centerline wheels,
it was after a show that I was on my way home from, I decided to get something to eat, it was a detour that I wished never happened, instead of going right at the light I normally go to go home, I went straight towards "Jack In The Box", well the next thing I know, I'm heading backwards going the same direction!, I came to a screeching halt, the motor still running, I was covered in glass and didn't realize what happened, well this lady ran a red light and T-boned me!

let me give a little history on the car:
'69 Road Runner, 383/auto. console w/deluxe bucket interior, power steering, power disc brakes ,A/C, power windows, 8 track w/3 speaker set up,rear window defogger,3 spoke wheel, tach, and it was originally "Vitamin C" orange, 3.23 sure grip, it was basically optioned like a GTX!

the guy I bought it from (the 2nd owner) didn't like the color, and stripped to the bare metal, engine compartment too, it was flawless!

anyways the car was repaired by a friends shop, that specialized in major collision repairs, they replaced the quarter/door, repaired the buckled section of floor, I watched the entire process for a month, when they were done and the car was reshot, you couldn't tell it was ever hit!, in fact the passenger door shut better than the driver's side!
I sold it a few months later to a neighbor, who still has it today, I saw it a month ago and it's still beautiful.

Wow!, did you get injured from that?, were you buckled in?. You can tell it wasn't hit by some rubber bumpered Lexus.

Glad to hear you fixed it. Back in the 80's most, including me, would have found another RR and added all the options and parts I wanted from the wreck.

I got a minor case of whiplash, and some cuts from the glass, when the side windows shattered.

well for the insurance company it was cheaper, for them to have fixed, and I got to pick the body shop, (my friends)

Surprised to hear that. I had a guy rear end my Demon 340 and the insurance co. offered me like $400 to total the car, this was in 88. I looked into suing the guy for the difference but it turned out he didn't have a pot to piss in. That car got parted as I didn't have the cash to fix it, back then 340 A bodies didn't have the following they do now anyway.

well the car was insured for $5,000 (that was alot for that car then), and it cost almost $4,000 to repair (that was 1986 dollars) the insurance company figured they were ahead, repairing it so they did.
I would have rather had the cash, and then bought it back, but my buddies shop made a good profit repairing it.

I ended up getting some cash as well for my injuries,
if I could have changed what happened that day, I would have just gone straight home.

too bad about your Demon, we have a ton of uninsured motorists out here and crap like that happens everyday.

I enjoyed reading this story. Do you wish that you had kept it. Must be hard to see it now. Didn't most of the Green B Bodies turn Orange? Rare that an Orange on turned Green?

I know here in Oklahoma, it's reported that almost 25 - 40% of driver don't have car insurance.

Scarey to say the least. Uninsurance is a must here.

here in Wisconsin we just this year started with mandatory insurance. i dont mind the idea of having to have it but if you dont the ticket is a lot more than the insurance itself. its kind of one of those deals where if your tight with money and cant afford the insurance you really cant afford the ticket
