I once heard somewhere that these T3 headlights were sought after. I have picked up a few at estate sales for a few bucks. What is the story behind their collectibility? Or is the story I heard BS?

Google T3 bulbs and find how to tell if they are OE/OEM or reproductions. The old correct ones are to the GM guys like date coded GE or Westinghouse bulbs are to the #'s mopar crowd.

Don't know what GM T-3s are worth today but did 30-40 years ago:

1956-1972 General Motors. In the 80s & early 90s, I would make a weekly trip to Pick Your Part salvage in Hayward, CA and come home with one or two 50 gal trash bags full of T-3 headlamps, both the quads (i.e. Chevelle) & twins (i.e. Camaro) at a cost of $1.00 ea. These were the days before ebay & online shopping so I listed and sold them via Hemmings Motor News, at $45 for a set of quads & $50 for a pair of the larger & rarer twins. Everyone back east was looking for these and I couldn't keep them on the shelf. It was a very lucrative mini-enterprise, until one day I discovered that the T-3s had been removed from all of the older GM cars, even those that were still waiting to be unloaded from the transporters. Someone at the yard had gotten wise & stole my enterprise away!

So, what was OE for Mopar bitd? Specifically 67 and Plymouth...
Don't know for '67, but probably no different than most years. All depends on the car plant and their supply chain of the month. GE or Westinghouse.

Thanx dadsbee. I just put some slightly brighter headlights in my Belvedere - the originals were marginal when youre 16, much less so when those numbers are inverted - and wondered if the GEs were original. [car only has 45k on it] There were some markings on the back looks like a part number and what I wondered was maybe a date code; H66 maybe? It was something 66, so I thought they might be OE. I saved em either way. (and I have a small stash of T3s also for other cars. :) )
