tach wiring

So im wiring the tach into my 73 standard charger, is there any special way to connect to the ignition coil or is it just as simple as soldering into the existing wire?

eyelet terminal to the - lead coil stud with a diff wire than the existant coil one... keep both wires with its own terminal each
