The Takata Air Bag recall has been expanding all thru summer and fall of 2017. A larger list of Chrysler vehicles just keeps growing. Takata and Chrysler are many many months behind notifying car owners.

My 2013 Challenger has been added to the recall, and the list now includes 2014 Challengers. More RAMs were added (not yet up to my model 2014 however).

Please check your license plate number and VIN here to learn your updated status: https://www.airbagrecall.com/

This news site appears to be the most recent published comprehensive list: http://www.nydailynews.com/autos/news/takata-airbag-recall-list-cars-article-1.2602999. That list is from late August 2017. I can't find a more current one in print. Which is why the recall site above is critical to use to search your VIN.

This Takata recall applies to many of us:
2007-2009 Chrysler Aspen
2005-2015 Chrysler 300
2007-2008 Chrysler Crossfire
2008-2014 Dodge Challenger
2006-2015 Dodge Charger
2005-2011 Dodge Dakota
2004-2009 Dodge Durango
2005-2008 Dodge Magnum
2003-2009 Dodge Ram 1500
2005-2009 Dodge Ram 2500
2006-2009 Dodge Ram 3500 Pickup
2007-2010 Dodge Ram 3500 Cab Chassis
2008-2010 Dodge Ram 4500
2008-2010 Dodge Ram 5500
2007-2016 Jeep Wrangler

My daughter's 2007 Mustang has Takada air bags. I just received a formal notice that the company is going bankrupt under chapter 11. I am trying to find out what that means for repairs, but it COULD mean that ultimately WE may need to pay for the repairs. If you have a car with one, be the squeaky wheel and to your dealer to get it fixed.

I've got the 06 Daytona scheduled for the recall. FCA has sent at least 10 notices, and left several phone messages. It's both sides now. Wanted to wait until it is routine for the Dealer (from Hell) so they don't mess up the dash. Challenger is next.

I'll have to go check ALL the vehicles again to make sure one hasn't been added. I also received a notice about my dishwasher last week, power cord can overheat. :BangHead:

I have received the recall notice for a couple of Police chargers I bought and parted. Received the chapter 11 notice the other day. From what I have heard from owners of other vehicles that have been impacted by this is that even before the CH11 notification the dealers where telling people we will call you when the parts come in. I have one friend with a hyundai that was impacted and he has been waiting 8 month at this point. Non of the dealerships have any parts to replace the faulty ones. Since this impacts multiple manufacturers this whole thing could end up getting uglier than the VW scandal.

My 2007 Ranger was under the recall. Ford kept sending me letters to get it fixed (for no cost), but the dealer said parts are not available over and over.

I called Ford and finally got a customer rep to eventually get the parts to the dealer.

Reminds me of Lee Iacocca's 1985 book; 'bombs do not belong in the dashboard of cars' was his opinion of airbags.

I kept getting the recall notices also.

This thread prompted me to call and get mine scheduled. Thanks.

We'll see how long it takes.
