Took pictures of last shuttle launch while in Coco Beach but have to wait for my daughter to size them so I can post them.

My buddies wife took these. I could see it but from a farther distance.

Try this again

Cool stuff, I loved the space program, the Shuttles seemed to make it routine, to go into space, I think some people in the Govt., got a little too complacent... I guess there's a bunch of controversy now, here in California, down south L.A. way, over having to cut down a bunch of trees {in the multiple hundreds}, on the route to it's final resting spot, when they have to transport it on the ground... Sorry just heard that yesterday, always something, it seems...

I think that's the old Sacramento Ca. area, McClallen AFB ,water tower in that one shot...

IIRC, it's 300 trees according to the news babes in Houston. Yeah, Houston is pretty pissed about not getting one. I live just down the road from NASA and Ellington field and I could hear the 747 spooling up right before takeoff and saw it make the circle back to the north and then head west down the I-10 corridor. The back side of the runway points towards my home and it was easy to hear and it was good to see it for the last time when it flew past a few miles away.

Yep that was McClallen AFB (or was anyway) I work in Rancho Cordova which is close and it was flying so low even standing on the roof the trees were in the way. 1500 feet I was told.

Here's some pics I took at the Shuttle flyby at Disneyland earlier today. I took a day's vacation from work and parked on top of the 5-level parking garage at the Anaheim Convention Center just south of Disneyland. I was the 1st one there but the top level was about half full of cars when the Shuttle came by.
