Looking to buy a tapered hub puller. Old and crusty is fine, as long as the threads are good. I know they're available new but it's for a one time use. Please PM me if you have one you want to part with.
Coloradodave,
I just finished a complete brake job on my 64 Plymouth and was lucky enough to borrow one from my local Mopar dealership. I had to dig thru several huge boxes upstairs that were full of old tools removed from their tool room 18 years earlier. The dealership was willing to loan it to me as long as they got to see the car when done. Just a thought.........it werkt fer me!
I was a teenager last time I used one of those and it belonged to the high school shop
ask around and see the old shop teacher or from a college
or loosen the axle nut and drive it around the block and listen for it to break loose
I found mine on ebay fairly cheap, but if google search them you can find new ones.
you cant rent / borrow them at some auto parts stores ive borrow one from advance auto but its a slide hammer style
Jan,
I went a different route and installed a Moser fabricated 8.75" narrowed housing and axles, along with a spring relocation kit and mini tubs. The link to tooltopia that 64 Bel posted looks like a good deal.
I purchased the rear-end direct from Moser Engineering. They build it to your specs after you fill out their form. I wanted 12" wide wheels and 15" wide tires which necessitated moving the springs in 3" per side and mini tubbing the inner fenders for clearance. Lots of fabrication/welding. Also added their rear disc brake kit.
