I need to remove the rocker moulding. I have never seen this done and need advice.

Thanks FBBO

Nothing in the factory service manual? If not, then you need a 69 Coronet guy that's done it already. You might get a clue if you can see what the retaining clips look like on RT Specialties website.

This is a photo of the rocker moulding clips from http://www.rtspecialties.net/proddetail.asp?prod=1000063S

I called RT Specialties and they told me to start at the front as there may be a stud and nut at the front through the fender which needs to come off first. Then, placing a piece of paper at the bottom of the moulding to protect the paint use a plastic putty knife under the bottom edge of the moulding to pop it off.

Yeah, each end will have a most likely sheet metal screw, then moulding will snap off of the white plastic pieces, then the white pieces slide off the tits. Any kragen etc. will have the plastix universal moulding & interior panel removal kits for cheap.

Good to hear. Any of the clips break?

Tell my story the 10th time, the clips bought from YO in the late 80's are too soft and flex. This allows a gap as the trim pulls away. Body shop threw away the originals.

Well, that blows. I hope you charged them.

Mine are a little flexy but hold the moulding against the car tight.

OK, I got the rocker moulding off. I see all my clips are new and didn't break. Now, how do I get them off? There is a push pin in the center that tightens the hole as you push it in. They are all flush with no way to grab and I can't see how to get them out from behind.

Surely I don't have to place a screw in it to be able to pull each pin out?

They don't slide off of the pin?
