Temp guage with aftermarket sensor

Ok, anyone know if I can use an aftermarket temp sensor for the stock gauge? 1969 Plymouth Belvedere and I would like it to work off of the same sensor that the Autometer works with....

The one wire type of sensor.

Yeah, that is what I have. So it shouldn't be an issue to just wire it up to the OE gauge??? Coolness! (pun intended)

Gauge with needle, not light. Light requires two wire.
