Testing dash switches

I have a bunch of dash switches for my 68 charger rallye dash. How do i go about testing the switches with a voltmeter before i put them in the car to make sure they work. Thanks guy

I don't have schmatics for the switches but what you are looking for is continuity between the input and output connectors when the switch is on and for continuity to go away when the switch is off. I would be easier with schmatics especially on the multi position switches.
