I love the people that run adds and say text me, well I don't text people and when I see their add I go right by it. Not all people text so I think these people should get a brain and either say call, text or e-mail.:argue::iamwithstupid:

Yep I don't text either, it's a sign of the times, people are way too lazy to call & talk to someone in person I guess, let alone face to face...

Texting is just a way for kids to communicate when they are actually supposed to be doing something else like studying, working, or paying attention while they are driving a car.

That's so true Moparsmitty, you got that right... Cell phones or any wireless devices are such a time consuming deal with the younger generation today... Parents should put their foot down, I would, if I had young kids in the house still...

Ive got PM's saying text with a number, i don't even own a cell phone, i just PM back and leave it there. I have a phone at home to talk on although my family says i should get one to carry in case of an emergency, im just not ready to give in to the idea yet.

I agree with you Ron. I used to have to carry a cell when I was at work. Now that I'm retired, I absolutely refuse to carry one.

Thanks.. I keep arguing with them about it, but its only out of there concern for me that they want it. Its health issues and they have some valid points, I know nothing about them and when i asked, i was told i could get one and buy min for it BUT, if i don't use them, i have to buy more, which doesn't make any sense, if i buy them, i should be able to keep them as long as i want, how do they run out if i never, i hope, make a call! I guess there are other ways, but im still trying to stay away from them.

Its the best way if you still have to communicate with an ex wife!!! You dont have to listen to her voice & if you catch her in a lie & she tries to deny it,then you can forward her own words rite back to her to prove it(save the messages). Believe it or not, but doing things like that helped me get my kids 1/2 the time instead of just every other weekend in the divorce.

and it's not just the school kids. there's a bunch of guys at work, that constantly are texting. on all shifts. we have a no cell phone policy, and it's not enforced. hate cell phones.

I am retired and have a cell phone, only use it when I need it, but it comes in handy if you or wife break down and if a emergency happens.Best thing I like about it when wife goes shopping and calls when she is ready, saves alot of time. Never ever text can't stand it. I have a tracfone and buy my minutes so it cost me about $7.00 a month, cheap insurance. Also if I am selling something I use that number and it keeps my home phone open.

I don't like the ones that don't answer emails.

Email is really the best of both worlds-

1- your conversation can be conducted at the lesiure of both parties.
2- you have an automatic set of notes to refer to in the future (what did he say the 5th VIN digit was?)
3- it's much easier to ask additional questions which everyone always thinks of as soon as they hang up the phone.
4- no background noise
5- gives both parties time to think of their questions and their responses.
The list could go on, but those are some of the main ones.

If you don't return my email, you are potentially missing a sale to a cash buyer.
Sure, if I want it bad enough I'll try calling after a day or two of no email return, but by then you may have sold it for less than what I would have paid.

Several of us are working on a project for 4th of July. Last night I get a call wanting to know if I am coming to the meeting as I have the only key to the building. I didn't know anything about it. It seems that the person that scheduled the meeting sent texts to everyone. I don't text and don't get texts.

I'd say that a texting driver is as bad as a drunk driver.

Possibly worse. Aren't the drunks usually looking in the direction of travel rather than in their lap? Not defending the drunks, but...

It also seems to me as soon as CA made holding the phone while driving illegal, the phone related accidents went up. At least I can talk and see where I am going - not that I talk on the cell phone that much anyway. I actually tried texting while driving and found it to be darn near impossible to do without hitting all the wrong keys while giving more attention to the road. I can completely see how it can lead to disaster. I have become really good at ignoring my cell phone!!

I agree about e-mails many times someone has something for sale and I e-mail them and never get a response, why place a ad and not answer back , also where I live they place a ad in spanish DAH, I go right by them if you are so stupid that you can't figure out that alot of people speak english then you don't deserve to sell it.:iamwithstupid:

I have had a cell phone for 10 years now and am a young guy. I do not have a home phone, never have and am ok with that but I still HATE :angryfire: texting. It is a completely useless form of conversation. Its a pain in the arse to type, people tell you crap you don't need to know, and its expensive.

When I sell stuff on Craigslist I do not provide an email address, in my experience you get too many people asking questions when they really aren't interested. I put a phone number and if you are truly interested you will call.

I would rather have useless emails that I can delete (or not even read if the subject line is suspicious or not relevant) than useless phone calls now that you have my number.

...and emails that I can read at home in the evening, than phone calls at all hours of the day (or while driving).

My phone at home has a rotory dial......lol:headbang:
