Hey all,

First of all, hope everyone had a good Christmas and had a good time with family/friends.

I carried on with some number matching research on the car, and questioned the part number etc on my transmission.
As most people say, it should start with "PK", well mine doesn't....
The number found is as follows:

2892093L 2534 9032

Assembly date: (2534) 5-6-68

As per listing, the part number 2892093 is for a Chrysler '69 8-440 375HP engine, which is correct because i have a 440 HP engine.
Why it does not mention "PK", or was this not al the time the case?
I am unable to see the VIN on the VIN plate because the tranny is still under the car.
Engine casting date is 10-8-68, and as from the VIN # the production date is around Oct 1968 so it all matches up i guess.
Just wonder why it does not mention the plant code?
Could this be random, or is this missing for a reason? (replacement tranny or something?)

I've got one in front of me that does not have the "PK" stamping, just a number string. I think it came out of a '72 400" police car. Replacement, could be, on either one of ours??

I am happy my complete drive train dates match up, but i just wonder if my tranny is a replacement or something.
If i do manage to get my eyes on the VIN pad and there is no number it would make sense if it was a replacement unit.

Look for the VIN up on the top of the bell housing. This is where 68 model year cars were. Not sure when they started stamping the pad for 69.

68 example:

I've checked that area and there was nothing.
As per '69 the VIN should be stamped on a dedicated pad on the passenger side of the car.

"PK" stands for the factory, were there more factory's that build tranny's that time and therefore did not stamp the "PK" on it?
The car is "E", so from the LA factory.
