The best way to ship a motor from Il to Ca anyone have any experience with this?

I am buying a motor from a guy in Il and wanted to know if anyone has had experience in arranging shipment....any ideas?.

you will have to work with an LTL company like R&L or yellow freight. The engine will need to be bolted to a pallet for easy pick up so the carrier can retrieve with a pallet jack and lift gate. MY dad sells antique gas engines this way. He uses a local freight company.
 
Check with your local Fastenal company. They have really reasonable store to store shipping available.

Find a Fastenal outlet in your area, it can beshipped to them from one outlet to another, if it's all crated up & movable by a forklift or pallet jack, tommy-lift, loading dock etc....
They're the people that make, supply & ship allot of nuts bolts & construction fasteners, assoc. hardware/sales outlets, they have shipping room on their carriers & are really reasonably priced... :headbang:
