We've been in the path of the fire. There are 3 evac orders. Pre Evacuation, Voluntary Evacuation and Manditory Evacuation.

At my house we were Voluntary Evac. My mother's ranch was manditory as well as my sister's ranch. We helped Mom pack the valuables. When we left we could see the flames and were choking on smoke.

Mom and Sis get to go back in for a quick inspection. Their neighborhood will have a police escort in a out. They are told they can spend 10 minutes there. We'll know more later.

Are prays for the rapid end to the wildfires & your family safety.....

wow that totally sucks, fires & especially wild fires can be really bad... stay safe, be well, I wish you all the best of luck, hopefully it went around your houses/barns & livestock etc. or maybe/hopefully the fire crews saved your families houses at least... we have a few big wildfires every year here in the Sierra's too, I'm always hoping that they don't come down as far as I am, there's way too much under brush, fallen trees tall grass etc., around these parts, way too much fuel & lightning usually is the cause or start of most of the fires here too...

welcome to FBBO if I haven't said it already, so so sorry about your circumstances...

I also wish you and your family the best of luck.stay safe.

Wow, this is terrible and prayers from my corner of the world to you (and all who are affected).

Thoughts and prayers from the Motor City!
Which is where I'm staying, our winters might be long and dreary but at least we have no floods, fires, heavy tornadoes or the threat of earthquakes or hurricanes.

Thoughts and Prayers. No way for me to relate to what you and yours are going through. When I smell smoke and see choppers in the area dropping that red stuff I am concerned. Nothing like what you are dealing with. All the best.

My mom lives in Canon City. Up until Sunday night, about 25 attempts to call her didn't go through so I was expecting the worst ... but she finally called me and they're okay. I hope you and your family aren't impacted too much or too harshly. Here's a <hug> because it's about all I can do from here.

Stay safe and hope it ends up ok. Several years ago, the 40+ acres behind me lit up but there's a large county drainage ditch about 100 feet behind the property that helped slow it down. It wasn't a huge fire because it's not heavily wooded but the wind was blowing in my direction and dropping lots of ash etc. I watered my place for hours and chased embers and even tho I was wearing a respirator, I still breathed in a lot of smoke. I have no idea how fire fighters do that for so many years!!

I finally got to talk to my mom on Sunday night -- they're okay! I hope the same for everyone else who might have been impacted by the fires.
