The California Science Center

Took the grandkid to the California Science Center in Los Angeles yesterday.

99% of what is there is real and authentic - not "replicas"...

Before even entering the building, you are greeted with a REAL SR-71 Blackbird!

Once inside, nothing but cool !
An Apollo capsule (Apollo 10)

Loads of other awesome stuff, but the cream of the crop was the space shuttle Endeavor!

All FREE except $12 parking.....I was in awe the entire time!

NASA rarely opens Plum Brook near Sandusky for tours. I've seen some really interesting stuff there. Many of the items you just saw were tested there in pieces before they went into space. I'll try to find some pix. Very, very interesting history there, all the way back to WW2. The original plan was munitions storage, because when WW2 broke out, we didn't have enough stash in ammo to fight for a few days. When all was said and done, it was given to NASA to beat the commies.

My oldest has hung out at NASA Glenn in Brookpark,Oh. ; doing testing on anti-icing products on occasion.

Was that the science center at USC? I saw the "Bodies" exhibit there. Never have I seen something soooo awesome and striking before. Very cool place for all to visit.

Sweet our center is crap ! And cost money!
But to tour NASA well that's a bit of fun only a hour and half ride from the house !
Haven't been there in awhile should probably go back
