Dick Brooks 1973
Dick Brooks races in the 1973 Talladega 500 on his way to his lone Winston Cup victory at the wheel of the Crawford Brothers #22. It appears that this would be the final victory for the Plymouth nameplate in Nascar history.

Thank you for sharing. I learned something new today:thumbsup:
I learned something new too! I guess I was too busy watching "The King" back in those days.

Plymouth has been gone for 20 years now & there's a whole generation of people that never heard of Plymouth.

what's a ply mouth!
Interesting view separating plymouth/dodge but to me there the same! didn't they quit next season they won the last championship. 2012 there that doesn't sound so bad!

Almost 50 years and they are still 4th in total race wins. Behind Chevy, Ford, and Dodge.

It is really sad that a lot of the car brands we grew up with, and that were popular in the muscle car era, are gone now. Not just Plymouth, but also missing Mercury, Oldsmobile, Pontiac, and even AMC.

I'm not missing AMC. somebody should graft a matador to a pacer and see what kind of super abortion that would look like!
they did get close with a javelin but still only a 6imo in the beauty contest!I almost had the paperwork signed on a used sst 360 when I found my 69runner sitting in a guys backyard!my whole life could have turned to ****!

There used to be a difference between the brands. Different engines, etc. Then they realized it was cheaper to have "corporate" engines and shared everything.
Then they realized if the only diff was the nameplate, well, why have different nameplates?
That happens when one company merges with another and competition gets eliminated. Economy of scale.
Please, don't take this political.

Best marketing slogan ever.
