I attended the Mopar Big Block party last night with some friends. It's not a show for big block Mopars it's a huge block party featuring only Mopars. This happens every Thursday night before the Mopar Mile High Nationals in Denver That occurs Friday, Saturday and Sunday at Bandimere Speedway. The cars featured are by invitation only but the party is free and open to all.
There's a big stage in the middle of Golden, Colorado just 2 blocks from the Coors Brewery. The stage holds a great band and Mopar celebs. I'm going to post some pics from some of the interesting cars but let me explain first. Ron Capps, Leah Prichett and Don Schmacher were there giving out free posters and autographs. Leah is just as pretty as she looks in photographs.
Freebies were everywhere. Besides posters we got free t shirts, we got Hellcat/Demon metal water bottles, Mopar license plates, Schumacher t-shirts, Mopar and Cummings can holders, and some crazy light up cups from Pennzoil. There was a Demon hooked up to hydraulics and a video screen. When you floored it the car did a wheelie and swerved side to side. Most drivers wrecked on screen.
Some interesting cars I saw were a Charger that was bought new then put together to mirror the 2 Door concept Charger we all saw in the 2000's. A 1975 A body Super Bee from Mexico. A wide-body 1 gen Charger and a murdered out 70's Dodge Magnum. I'm leaving out a ton of details but you get the picture. It was 6 full of people and several important cars.
